Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We stopped in while on vacation for a quick bite to eat. What a lucky find. Very good food and priced reasonably. The chicken enchilada was full of chicken and the beef burrito was great. Friendly and fast service. The jumbo margaritas are excellent.

This place is the best, Lupe, one of the owners is great. Try the jumbo margaritas, the best.

I love this place. The restaurant is clean every time I go. The food comes out nice and hot. The portions are good and then some. I love the food. It is very good. You get chips and salsa when you are seated. I am a very picky eater. I don't care for salsa. I love theirs. I get the nacho plate it is enough for 2 people to eat. It is amazing.

We got take out a couple of days ago, and despite the carne asada taco being just meat and tortilla, the meat was tender and delish. My co-workers all agreed the ceviche and fajitas were tasty as well. I liked the look of the inside as well and would definitely stop back for a margarita post-work! The true test of 5-star worthiness...

Love this place, my wife and I frequent it often. The shrimp taco's are excellent as are the margaritas. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great service, friendly staff and good authentic mexican including warm tortilla chips. Right across the street from my hotel so nice and convenient to have a few drinks and get back to my room safely. I'll be coming back.

The thing I liked about this place was that the food was fresh and delicious. It came out hot and tasty. The place was clean and only a short walk from the hotel I was staying at. The waitress was nice too. It's a great place to eat.

I just moved to IA from TX so I was pretty nervous trying a new Mexican food place... I wouldn't say that Cancun is the very best I've ever had, but I think it's the best I've had here in IA. My husband said his michelada was the best he's EVER had - he even gave the bartender an extra tip, it was so good. We will be frequenting this place! The only reason I couldn't give that 5th star is because the salsa is not good... You can tell right away they use canned pureed tomatoes, which is such a pity, considering the produce up here is top notch!

Service was quick and food was hot and fresh. I ordered the shrimp tacos..the shrimp was small and overall portion was small. It still was tasty though. The Guac was average, I was hoping for something a bit more homemade or authentic. Servers were nice as well.

Who would have thought I'd have to travel all the way to Cedar Rapids Iowa for the beat fajitas of my life. Awesome food great prices and even better margaritas. Makes me wish I was here for more than a night and I thought I'd never say that in my life!

You can always judge how good a Mexican restaurant is by the chips & salsa and the deep fried ice cream. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not make the cut. We should have left as soon as we had our 1st chip. The chips were stale and waitress said they are made fresh everyday. Salsa should be homemade and should have more than tomato sauce in it. This salsa was far from good Mexican salsa. The best part of our meal was the rice & beans. My 6 year old son did enjoy his cheeseburger and his French fries were quite tasty....but that's not Mexican food. And to top it off, they had NO deep fried ice cream. What good Mexican restaurant did NOT make any deep fried ice cream today (according to the waitress)?! At least lie to us and say you are out. So we didn't feel ripped off, we had to stop by another Mexican restaurant to get deep fried ice cream on our way home. To top it all off, the service was very slow and waitress had no personality. Instead of stopping by this restaurant, you would be better off going 1 block down to Taco Bell.
